Who we are

Enigma is run by two experienced teachers Emma Steed and David Short.

Emma Steed taught in primary schools before becoming Education Officer at St Albans City Museum.  After a stint back in schools she worked at both Stevenage Museum and Ashwell Field Studies Centre before becoming the full time Education Officer at Stevenage Museum.  She is now teaching part-time in a school and working with Enigma.

David Short taught in secondary schools before moving to the Ashwell Field Studies Centre which, until 1992, he directed as an Advisory Teacher for Environmental Education and History.  In 2001 he closed it as the site was to be developed.  Since then he has taught in various organisations including The British Library, The Imperial War Museum, Duxford and Stevenage Museum.
